Obituary for Homer Houston Buchanan Jr.
Homer Houston Buchanan, Jr., 93, of Memphis, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord October 23, 2017.
Mr. Buchanan was born on October 11, 1924 in Sherman, Mississippi to the late Homer Houston and Lillian Margaret Sanders Buchanan. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 56 years, Annie Mae Campbell Buchanan, a daughter, Frances Louise Price and a son, John Houston Buchanan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WW II. His career with Frisco Railroad spanned 40 years. The Buchanan’s were long term members of the Methodist church.
In addition to his parents and immediate family, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Christine Sipes of Memphis and Dottie Kittrell of Gulf Breeze, FL. He leaves another sister, Jo Davis of Memphis. He also leaves a granddaughter, Angela Price Curl (Don), a son in law, Robert Price, a great-granddaughter Jamie Anderson (Perry) and a great-great grandson Stephen Anderson, all of Tiptonville, TN. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Memorials may be given to Forever Young Senior Veterans. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park-Midtown (901)775-0310
